
Irene, 46, is a teacher; she is an optimistic person and has a radiant personality. Since 2002, she has been attending the barazas, the village meetings, and telling the people there about the values-based approach. She always felt uncomfortable with the issue of female genital mutilation and learnt from Claudia Wagner of the Fulda-Mosocho Project how it is possible to protect girls. Irene also teaches parents at the parent education classes. She has a daughter and a son. She has also protected her daughter from female genital mutilation.
